before-the-flood_poster_delaware_fpcSunday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m., The First Presbyterian Church’s Earth Care Team, along with Sustainable Delaware Ohio and Ohio Interfaith Power and Light, will present Leonardo DiCaprio’s film, Before the Flood.

This documentary is a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change—the most pressing challenge of our time.

The film follows DiCaprio as he travels to five continents and the Arctic, speaking to scientists, world leaders, activists and local residents to gain a deeper understanding of this complex crisis. The core issues represented in his journey are fossil fuels, methane gas, palm oil, geopolitical landscape and US political landscape.

Sara Ward, Director of Ohio Interfaith Power and Light, will lead a discussion following the film. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 73 W. Winter St. in Delaware. This event is free and open to the public.

The mission of Ohio Interfaith Power and Light is to empower a religious response to climate change and to promote energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. We focus on tangible results in religious communities–putting our faith into action.

“Climate change is the single greatest threat to a sustainable future but, at the same time, addressing the climate challenge presents a golden opportunity to promote prosperity, security and a brighter future for all.”
